Upcoming NMFG Member Meeting

Our next member meeting will be 14 July, Tuesday, at 6:00 to 8:00PM, at the Baca Center.

We are planning a show-tell of your latest Master Gems. If your Gems are a special cut, please bring a copy of the diagram. There will be several door prizes for the lucky members who show up.

PLEASE RSVP to George, by phone call or email, as it would be helpful to know how many members are coming.

NMFG April Workshop

We had another full house for the April workshop. Carsten brought in a display case of our four beginner cuts for the group to see (photo below). He used this at the TotE show to illustrate to people what they would be making if they joined us. There were door prizes for everyone, and a lot of good work was accomplished.

NMFG Supports AGMC 2026 TotE Show

NMFG had at least two members present during the three days of the AGMC TotE Show. We talked with many people who stopped by our booth, demonstrated faceting, and showed people examples of the gems we create using Carsten’s two display cases. Many thanks to Carsten for manning our booth for all three days. Also, thanks to all the members who helped out with one or more sessions at the booth, including: George, Andy, Craig, Deon, and Ed. Andy spearheaded the set-up of our gem collection which looked great (see photos below).

NMFG March Workshop

We had a small but focused group at the March workshop. There were ten of us in attendance. Those present made plenty of jokes about how the “spring forward” time change had kept people at home. There was still a lot of good work and instruction that took place, and everyone received a door prize. Andy had some great handouts for the group as well.

We had a very good showing for the Feb workshop. There was a lot of great progress by all those who were present. Jim completed a gem. Andy had multiple handouts for everyone. These are posted on our Resources page. Everyone received a door prize and a few folks bought bags of rough that the Guild had in inventory.
